WRITING LIFE STORIES with Carol La Chapelle & Judy Bridges Saturday, Feb. 27, 9:30am-4pm
Find Your Voice Tell Your Story
Whether you are a beginning writer or a pro, this workshop will help you mine the riches of the people, places and events in your life. Did you really get married on a motorcycle? What was it like to live through an illness or visit Grandma or dance on a cobblestone street?
Would you like to write those stories for your family, give as gifts, or use in a novel, essay, or memoir? Or maybe just get-it-down for yourself?
Carol and Judy have been wanting to do this workshop for ages. They both live their passion to help people write, and now they bring it to you in this exciting day full of ideas, encouragement and practical skills.
In the morning session, Carol will guide you through writing exercises designed to unearth your memorable tales of childhood, transition, adventure, loss, and triumph.
In the afternoon, Judy will show samples of things others have done with their writing: gifts, family keepsakes, published collections and novels. She'll also show you how to get your project organized and give you a list of resources you can use.
This workshop is open to new and practicing writers of all genres.
Carol LaChapelle is a Chicago-based writer and writing coach who specializes in helping people write their personal stories, whether as family histories or for publication. She is the author of Finding Your Voice, Telling Your Stories and can be reached at her website, www.carollachapelle.com.
